Internationally acclaimed cellist Adam Liu has been professor at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for over 11 years.

He is currently member of the Duquesne Piano Trio and the Assistant Principal Cello, George Aileen Dorman Chair of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.

Born in Tianjin, China. Mr. Liu has been a frequent guest artist throughout the Asian music festivals and in Europe, such as Central Conservatory of Music, Arcidosso International Music Festival, Sichuan Conservatory,

Shanghai Conservatory of Music, Tianjin and Seoul Arts Institute. He has been a featured soloist with fine orchestras world-wide, including symphonies of Montreal, Victoria, Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, San

Antonio, Baltimore, Los Angeles and Pittsburgh.

2018-19 is the 10th season for “Adam Liu and friends” chamber music series at PNC Recital Hall in Pittsburgh which has been a huge success over the last 9 years and had received glowing reviews from both the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and Pittsburgh Tribune.

Adam Liu plays on a fine Italian instrument made in 1759 by Paolo Antonio Testore.
